Between 18.30pm and 08.00am and all weekend and bank holidays, emergency medical assistance is provided by NHS 111. You can call them direct by dialing 111. Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobiles.
Leigh NHS Walk-in Centre
You can also see an experienced nurse practitioner for treatment of minor injuries and illness at the walk-in centre at Leigh Infirmary, The Avenue, Leigh WN7 IHS Telephone 01942 264000 . It is open from 07:00 until 21:00 seven days a week. You do not need an appointment.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
